AMIT DAS GUPTA
Amit has over two decades of experience in teaching and training across industries. His area of specialization includes servant leadership practices, positive psychology and critical exploration. A pioneer in experiential education in India, he has been instrumental in creating and mentoring the finest educators’ team in the country for more than a decade. He is equally at ease while teaching strategic planning in boardrooms and critically exploring the flora of a deciduous forest with 6th graders. A practicing biophilist, his other passions include working for homeless Indian dogs and researching nature deficit syndrome in children.
With over a decade of experience in outdoor education, Deepak leads the service learning initiatives at Utsaah. Introduced to adventure early in life, Deepak brings forth immense experience and knowledge of outdoor and off country travelling, and with it, the wisdom that one gets on the road. Naturally inclined towards colors, music and creativity, he often uses these as mediums of teaching and developing free expression of creative thoughts in children. His extensive travels in India and abroad, has helped him to develop deep insights about diverse marginal communities, and empowered him to use community based sustainable work as tools to create service engagement in students.
Raj has been into adventure from a young age. A trained and certified rock climber and mountaineer, he combines his love of the outdoors with education to provide meaningful experiences for children. For sixteen years, Raj has delivered experiential and service learning programs to school groups from Dubai, Hong Kong, UK, Singapore and India. He infuses his programs with inquiry, innovation and reflection. As a facilitator, his strengths lie in establishing group dynamics and challenging students to leave their perceived comfort zones to discover new aspects of their identity. He believes that through experiential learning, students find personal growth and cognitive development.
DR. SUDEEP GADHOK
Sudeep is a global health and development consultant with experience of working with some of the top multilateral organisations including WHO and UNICEF. His inspiring work on polio vaccination in India was documented as ‘Disease Warriors’, the premiere episode of the famous global tele – series Rx for Survival, which was aired by Public Broadcasting Services, US. He was also the Country Head (India) for Project Hope, a reputed International humanitarian organization headquartered in Washington DC. With extensive experiences at grass root level service, large humanitarian projects and managing diverse vertical teams across a wide geographical area, Sudeep combines remarkable passion and experience in scalable service projects.
Leaving behind a cushy corporate career, Hiten found his calling in the outdoor education and in doing meaningful work with children and young adults. A qualified mountaineer and certified trip leader from National Outdoor Leadership School, USA, Hiten has been instrumental in designing and delivering countless adventure learning programs for a variety of top schools in India, including pioneering the 5 years long leadership development program for The Doon School. A graduate of Indian Society for Applied Behavioral Sciences, Hiten is a keen student of human psychology and adventure therapy.
An education mentor by profession, Shikha has been a pioneer in developing experiential learning curriculum and integrating multiple intelligence and critical exploration techniques of teaching for a large number of schools across India. With a decade plus experience, Shikha currently conducts workshops for teachers’ empowerment and experiential learning projects for children and adults as an integrated approach to community development. Passionate about street theatre, she integrates creative writing, dance, drama and art as mediums of teaching and community engagement.
DR. MANOJ NANDKARNI
An environmental activist, Manoj has spent around two decades in spreading awareness and community drives for protecting natural habitats around the world. Professionally trained as a marine biologist, he specializes in the study of coastal eco systems and forestry, and consults eco tourism projects across the world. A passionate deep sea diver and a wild life enthusiast, Manoj spearheads environmental education and leadership initiatives at Utsaah.
